Claris Works File

Question: What is an WORD File?

Have you found, downloaded or received an WORD file, but don't know which software program is required to open it?

Before attempting to open an WORD file, you'll need to determine what kind of file you are dealing with and whether it is even possible to open or view the file format.

Answer: Files which are given the .WORD extension are known as Claris Works files, however other file types may also use this extension. If you are aware of any additional file formats that use the WORD extension, please let us know.

How to open a WORD file:

The best way to open an WORD file is to simply double-click it and let the default assoisated application open the file. If you are unable to open the file this way, it may be because you do not have the correct application associated with the extension to view or edit the WORD file.

I own a Imac G5 computer that I bought in 2005. I'm seeking employment at the moment and I'm just finished writing my resume. I used the Mac version of Word and I saved the resume to my hard drive. I then place the document in a folder to be attached to my e mail and sent to an employer. Before I sent the resume to my employer I sent the resume to my alternate e mail, just to see how it would appear. When I opened it, my resume wasn't formatted the way I created it. All I saw was each line I wrote including my name in address in a form of lines like sentences lined from the top of the page to the bottom. Is this normal, does the employer have a way to reformat it? Can someone help me?
