.TEL File Extension

Sim Card Data File

Question: What is an TEL File?

Have you found, downloaded or received an TEL file, but don't know which software program is required to open it?

Before attempting to open an TEL file, you'll need to determine what kind of file you are dealing with and whether it is even possible to open or view the file format.

Answer: Files which are given the .TEL extension are known as Sim Card Data files, however other file types may also use this extension. If you are aware of any additional file formats that use the TEL extension, please let us know.

How to open a TEL file:

The best way to open an TEL file is to simply double-click it and let the default assoisated application open the file. If you are unable to open the file this way, it may be because you do not have the correct application associated with the extension to view or edit the TEL file.

This file format was added to our database by a visitor to this site, but no additional information was provided. We have yet to investigate this file type further, or there was not enough information available at the time to report accurately on the format.

Please check back soon for more information as we are constantly updating our file descriptions based on search frequency.

Tip: Try to open the TEL file using a text-editor such as Notepad, as many file types contain simply contain unformatted plain-text and can viewed correctly using this method.

I have the SimMax application installed on my PC to read/edit sims of mobile phones.

In the option to "open file", it is only permitting files with the ".tel" extension.

On further investigation in %program files%sim maxtel folder I found more files with the ".tel" extension.

My goal was to copy an address book from a PC to the mobile phone book using the gsm sim as intermediary. The sim can store only 250 names, whereas the mobile phone books can store 500 or more, so you have to copy 250 numbers at a time on to the sim which is in the simholder which itself is plugged into PC USB port.

Once the 250 names are copied to the sim, the sim is removed, fixed in mobile and the 250 addresses are copied to phone book. This process is repeated until all the PCs address book is completely copied to the mobile phone book.

I am unable, in the very first instance to copy names from address book of pc, which are exported originally as .xls or .csv files and the blessed sim max software is only allowing .tel files!

If you can give alternate solution please advise. I was searching for any application that could convert .csv files to .tel
