.NK File Extension

Nuke Script File

Developer File
Files with the NK extension contain scripts used by the NUKE and NUKEX applications developed by The Foundry and partner Luxology. These two programs were built primarily for creating movie Visual FX in a floating point 3D and 2D environment.

NK files contain numerous rows of data with pairs of coefficients indicating various wavelengths and values indicating variables like unit of measurement, range of measurement or number of intervals. Nuke scripts always start with an Extended Backus Naur Form (EBNF) declaration.

How to open NK Files

NK files are created, saved and rendered using the NUKE and NUKEX applications released by The Foundry.

Also, since NK files are text based, they can be viewed and edited using any text editor such as WordPad or Notepad for Windows, TextEdit for Mac and Nano Editor for Linux.
