.APPLET File Extension

Eclipse java.policy.applet File

Developer File
The APPLET format is used by developer files created with Eclipse for Java.

This application is used for software development purposes only and it is widely considered one of the best Java development tools available. Eclipse offers developers better editing options with validation, code assist, incremental compilation, an XML editor, cross referencing and more.

APPLET files are generated automatically by Eclipse when the developer creates a new applet project. They're saved in the original folder of the project and are responsible for the security permissions of the applet. By default, they contain the following line of code: " grant { permission Java.security.AllPermission; }; " where "AllPermission" is the default security policy.

This type of permission is generally used for software development on local machines and it's not recommended for applet development in a larger production environment where the security policy may need to be a more restrictive one.

How to open and edit APPLET Files

APPLET files can be accessed and edited with Java Eclipse. The program is available for software developers using Windows, Linux or Mac OS operating systems.
